Overall Construction Progress

When ALLO builds our fiber network in a city, we divide that city into PONs. PONs (or passive optical networks) are like the ALLO map of your community, zoned according to geographic location, easement or right-of-way access, construction costs, access permitting, and existing facilities. Read more about PONs and fiber installation.

The Town of Erie was split into 19 different PONs, each of them numbered. The adjacent map shows each of the PONs and their associated PON number.

Part of ALLO’s underground construction process involves boring a hole in an alley, street, or sidewalk. The result is a street core – or hole in the street – that needs to be filled or restored. ALLO restores the street cores with concrete or asphalt, whichever matches the original construction material.
